Berkeley Auto Repair

As anticipated, there were more problems than I was prepared to deal with, but I was given a quote and allowed to decide on each one. I was given an honest answer about whether I should continue with repairs or look for another car. When I checked with a friend, the prices were about the same as what she'd paid 10 years ago for the same fix. Four stars because I wish it had longer hours or a few Saturday hours- it's tricky to pick up and drop off and still get to and from work in time.

I had my 1995 dodge Ram 3500 sportmobile reviewed by the guys at Oceanworks Berkeley and it needed a new waterpump, shocks and breaks. Oceanworks Berkeley did a great job communicating the problems and prices while checking for any other serious issues. Immediate problems and wishlists where worked out and the billing was thoroughly documented. Thanks again for the great service!

Chris was able to fix my turn indicator with a stronger flashing unit than I originally had. He also fixed one of my seat belts that had been broken for years. Two other shops said it would be $300+ dollars to fix and that I would need a new seat belt. He took the time to look at it and mess around with it and found a piece of plastic that was keeping it from functioning correctly, so not only saved me a couple hundred dollars, but also saved time for my truck to be in the shop. Lastly, he also found my bluetooth earpiece that I had been missing for about two months, saving me even more money on the purchase of a new one. This is a great shop, very professional and friendly. I will be bringing my vehicles to them now.

Good workmanship, helpful advice. Chris had to explain a couple of things to me that should have been self-evident. He did so without finger wagging or condescension. I feel like my car is in good hands.

I have a Town and Country minivan purchased from Michael Steads Chrysler and Jeep dealership in Richmond. When the battery was replaced the radio,cd player and back up camera stopped working . I went to the dealership for help. They checked the fuses and they were okay. They told me the entire system needed to be replaced because AAA did something wrong during the battery change. The part was around $1200 plus labor. I was shocked and I couldn't possibly afford it. I asked a number of auto repair people if they had ever heard of this and no one had. At the advice of Bill at Mobility Systems I went to Oceanworks Berkeley .Chris spent time researching solutions and hour later he simply removed the battery and installed it again.PROBLEM SOLVED! Chris was so kind and so helpful and I left with an enormous smile on my face. The people at Oceanworks Berkeley are awesome and ethical, something I can't say about Michael Stead's dealership.
