Context-wise--maybe I am hypersensitive. Here are my recommendations--in the chronological order they were experienced (all said to constructively help you improve customer rapport). 1. If I am standing there waiting for you to finish something and the phone rings, remember, I am next in line--not the phone caller. 2. When I ask you to do something for the car, don't forget to do it--or if the answer is "no", say so. I'd asked you to have the warranty items done where I pay for the parts and labor and you forgot. 3. It is a hassle for me to take the car down to visit the shop--so know what the computer is asking me to do--if it is an 18,600 mile check up, know that it is a tire rotation and cabin filter change. And try to remember I had told you we replaced the tires a month previously--I am not gabbing to socialize, I am giving you information for the car history. An unnecessary tire rotation is not worth the visit. A cabin filter change may not be either. In this case, I am very happy you did the change.

I love Oceanworks--they've cared for multiple vehicles over the years (including an ancient truck they suggested--correctly--I not purchase) and always provide excellent service, don't recommend unnecessary repairs unless needed, treat me as someone who understands cars (which is not entirely true but I am deeply impressed with the respect), and have great recommendations for providers of other services e.g. tires, audio repairs, etc. I love my car and Oceanworks Berkeley helps me keep it running smoothly and happily. Thanks Chris and employees for keeping Lucy Lou the Subaru as zippy (even if increasingly aged) as ever! They're also incredibly nice to my dog who pretends its his office which is very tolerant on their end.

These guys accommodated my tight schedule and had me on the road happy. Topped me off with a whole giant GM reservoir of antifreeze and I don't believe they even charged me for that.

First, the business is a small business, and the people and the work done by far exceeds any dealer. My review is for an oil change but the attention paid to my 2016 Subaru Forester was that of an expensive task. One-on-one attention, answer all questions--not deferring them--in superior time (for a first-thing-in-the-morning apt, I waited for only an hour), Oceanworks Berkeley tracks your vehicle's maintenance with records, and they have a yes-I-can-do-it attitude. Instead of a me having a Principal Providing Physician, my Forester has a Principal Providing Mechanic. And I intend to stay with them.

Rory,
Thank you for your feedback , we appreciate it .

I have often had to drop by (it is close to my work), with my old '98 Subaru Outback. Chris has always been willing to help me figure out what's wrong, and fixes it promptly! I really can recommend them! Elizabeth

The prices are reasonable for the work done. Chris is honest and never attempts to sell me unnecessary work. He is respectful of women and never talks down to me when discussing the details of the work he will be doing for me. I always find parking near by. In my experience every repair is well thought out and done with care. I will be back. Carol
