My vehicle broke down, on I-80 near Berkeley. My insurance gave me a few automotive repair numbers to call to have my vehicle towed there. I was very fortunate to have contacted Oceanworks ll. They were very professional and courteous and knew I was from out of town, so they quickly diagnosed the problem and went to work. They ordered the parts and completed the work by 3:45, even though they only had it since 11:00. It was a busy Friday and they already had a full plate, but they went the extra mile to get my vehicle fixed. I think they are a great place with skilled mechanics and truly care for the customer. I was referred to the shop by a friend and am now grateful to her for sending me here. They took a no-nonsense approach to my concerns and were willing to talk through repairs that were needed now as well as those that could safely be deferred. I appreciate the personal customer service and the knowledge they have regarding Subaru's. I feel like I can trust them to give quality work at a fair price and not upsell unnecessary repairs. This is now by go-to shop!

Overall I had a great experience with Oceanworks Berkeley! I was trying to decide whether it was worth replacing the transmission on my 2002 Subaru. Oceanworks did a thorough inspection and gave me a summary of what overall shape the car was in, thus allowing me to make an informed decision, which was very different from the vague diagnosis I had gotten from another mechanic. I would have appreciated more transparency as to what the final cost would be as I ended up with an unexpectedly high bill, but overall felt well taken care of and appreciated the attention to detail.
